Green Coffee Bean Extract contains Chlorogenic Acid (CGA) which has been shown to inhibit excess activity of glucose-6-phosphatase (G6P). The G6P enzyme triggers glucose formation from non-carbohydrate substrates and glycogen release from the liver, both of which can create excess glucose in the blood. CGA also targets the alpha-glucosidase enzyme - this enzyme breaks apart complex sugars and enhances their absorption into the bloodstream. According to one study CGA reduces absorption glucose by almost 20%.*
