Coconut Fiber
What is Coconut Fiber?
Coconut
fiber is a product derived from fresh coconut meat. It is considered a
functional food because it contains health benefits beyond its nutritional
content. Coconut fiber has all the benefits of other dietary fibers and many
advantages that other fibers don't have.
What
Advantage Does Coconut Fiber Have Over Other Fibers?
Aloha Nu Coconut Fiber has many advantages over other
dietary fibers such as wheat bran, oat bran, rice bran, flax, soy, and psyllium.
Higher fiber content than other dietary fibers.
The same
volume of coconut fiber contains over twice as much fiber as ground flaxseed
and six times as much as oat bran. You get more health-promoting fiber for a
fraction of the cost.
Taste is far superior to other dietary fibers.
Aloha Nu
Coconut Fiber has a mild, nutty coconut
flavor. This is one dietary fiber you don't need to force down with strong
flavored and overly sweetened juices. It's so good you'll enjoy adding it to
foods and beverages.
Dissolves easily in liquids.
Coconut
Fiber is finely ground so particles dissolve easily in liquids so there is no
unpleasant gritty taste of texture.
Easy
to swallow.
Coconut
Fiber has a higher water absorption capacity than wheat and oat bran, but does
not thicken or gel. This makes it easy to use and pleasant to eat.
Does
not interfere with mineral absorption.
Most all
fibers made from seeds and grains (flaxseed, soybeans, wheat, oats, etc.)
contain phytic acid. Phytic acid binds to calcium, zinc, and other important
minerals and pulls them out of the body, reducing mineral absorption. Coconut
fiber does not contain mineral robbing phytic acid.
Contains health promoting medium chain fatty acids (MCT's)
This is
the only dietary fiber supplement that contains natural MCT's. MCT's help
promote a healthy intestinal environment by supporting friendly - rather than
harmful - gut bacteria.

Wonderful coconut fiber, sweet and pleasant tasting, and more beneficial than psyllium because it is prebiotic (ie, it feeds the GOOD bacteria in the colon) not to mention netrition.com's lightning fast shipping and great price....no brainer...

So much fiber in a tablespoon. I add this to my oatmeal, yogurt, and my homemade protein bars. It doesn't impart a real strong coconut flavor when added to protein bars. I think that it would be great to use in cooking--I plan to try coating a chicken breast with it and then baking the chicken. Great stuff--I'm ordering a second container and have told friends and family about it.

The coconut fiber is great! It has a light taste of coconut, so when you add it to hot oatmeal or even cold cereal, it doesn't change the taste very much. It does add a coconut flavor, but it isn't overpowering. It is a great way to add 5 grams of fiber to your diet, with only 1 tablespoon. Please be aware that it doesn't dissolve, but it adds a small, crunchy texture to hot/cold cereal and yogurts. I haven't tried it in any baked goods yet.

I really like this fiber. Yes, it is a tad gritty but I normally mix it with my oats in the morning or my Whey shake during the day, so its not that noticeable. It gives both a nice flavor and I get much needed fiber, a win-win situation.

A painless way to get more fiber - I put a tablespoon of this wonderful stuff in each jar when I make yogurt.
