Lucienne's Sugar Free Chocolate is made with premium quality cocoa beans, grown on Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms in Ecuador. The beans are roasted and processed in small batches, which helps to maintain a high level of antioxidants and provides great aroma and flavor. The sweetener and cocoa are "conched" together, grinding slowly over several days. The result is a smooth and delicious Dark Chocolate, with 83% cocoa content, but with the flavor of a 70% Dark Chocolate. All ingredients are 100% natural.

Lucienne's sweetener is made using Rebiana and Erythritol. Rebiana (also known as rebaudioside A or rebA) is the sweet extract from the Stevia Leaf. It is extracted by steeping the Stevia in water and then separating the Rebiana. Erythritol is a natural sugar alcohol created by fermenting glucose with the yeast Moniliella pollinis. Unlike other sugar alcohols, Erythritol is absorbed by the body and does not cause gastric distress. The result is a non-caloric, all-natural sweetener with great taste and free from common side effects of many artificial sweeteners.

I'm giving these 5 stars because I can eat them without any side effects like I get with others. I have a very difficult time with fibers & will not eat most fake sugars like splenda etc. Makes life difficult to come up with treats. I will say they are like a bittersweet chocolate vs a creamy sweet bar but the longer I stay off sugar and learn not to compare junk food with healthy replacements, the better things taste. There's a bit of an aftertaste from the sweeteners - not offensive enough to prevent me from buying again, but definitely noticeable. This is a hard chocolate and not soft like the Chocoperfection bars, but I'll probably buy these again because the chocoperfection bars give me gas.
